Custom-built Minichips

Description

Use Aleria’s manufacturing technology to design and fabricate your own transparent and biocompatible chips. Each chip contains a 100µl reservoir in which you pipette biological media or buffer solutions depending on your application. The reservoir is placed on a glass slide which contains a thin metallic film (e.g. gold) and a transparent, biocompatible insulation layer (silicon nitride). Using our layout files allows you to design the metallic film and specify the dimensions and placements of openings through the insulation layer. If you prefer you can send us your own layout in another format. We can pattern the metallic thin film and insulation layer below 10um if required (e.g. microelectrodes, microholes through insulation layers, interdigital electrodes).

Do you like to connect your chip to electronic devices? Aleria provides you with several connection solutions, ranging from four connection pads up to 60 connection pads per chip. You can choose between permanent or non-permanent connections. Our standard solution contains:

  • A chip holder (observe your chip surface using an inverted microscope during measurements)
  • An adapter (connect your chip to a printed circuit board)
  • Cables (connect the chip to your lab equipment)
